How to setup my Linksys RE6300 AC750 range extender in Access Point mode

We had already discussed about how to set up Linksys RE6300 AC750 WiFi range extender in range extender mode in our other article. So you can follow the article by clicking on How to Connect Linksys RE6300 AC750 Wifi Range Extender

But here let’s initiate our discussion on Linksys range extender setup in access point mode.

Before that let’s discuss little bit about access point mode.

What are Access points?

They are devices characterised to create a wireless local area network. That means in this case you will connect Linksys RE6300 range extender with your network router or switch with Ethernet cable.

That thing distinguish it from range extender mode, in which you just establish wireless link with your network router/switch and it starts sending WiFi signal coming from your router throughout the network.

As in case of Access points, connection between network router/switch is wired, thus there will be minimal losses.

Whereas in case of range extender mode, there exist wireless connection between your network router and Linksys RE6300 range extender. Thus there is chances of more signal losses then in access point mode.

Why to install Linksys RE6300 AC750 WiFi range extender in access point mode?

It wholly depend on your network demands that whether you will install Linksys range extender in access point mode or extender mode.

For instance, if you are installing Linksys range extender for your home network then you can go for range extender mode.

But if you are planning to install your extender for business network then you are always advised to install Linksys RE6300 WiFi range extender in access point mode.

Reason for the same is that while in range extender mode, your extender can support less number of connections that is not more than 20.

Whereas in case of access point, it can have 60 simultaneous connections.

So that makes a huge difference.

At the same time, although in range extender mode, your Linksys range extender can extend the network coverage, but it cannot extend the available bandwidth.

Thus if more number of devices get connected with your range extender, then bandwidth utility will end you up in slower network connection.

Whereas in access point, this is not the case.

This is the reason why access point is preferred choice in case of business networks.
