Step 2: Ensure the workable connection between Modem, Router, and computer.
Establish an Ethernet connection between your main computer, broadband modem, and router, as shown in the figure given below. For this, you have to connect modem with internet port of router and computer to LAN port of the router.
If you notice, you will find 4 LAN ports and 1 internet port on your router. You have to be cautious while establishing a connection between them.
If in case you connect these devices with wrong ports then they will not be able to communicate with each other and thus you will be unable to open up Linksys router setup page.
Step 3: Launch Linksys router Setup page
To launch the Linksys router setup page first thing required by the user is IP address, using which this page will be launched.
By default, IP address to launch setup page is 192.168.1.1. But in some cases, it may vary.

Step 4: Alter the internet connection settings of the Linksys router as per your requirement.

Step 5: Changing internet connection settings
Then you will be required to change network connection settings as per your service provider.
If you are having Cable Internet Service Provider then you will be required to clone the MAC address of your main computer. You will find this option under “Basic Setup tab”. Then click on Save.
If you are having DSL Internet Service Provider then you will be needed to enter PPPoE user name and password given by your ISP.
For this change the Internet connection settings to PPPoE and enter the PPPoE user name and password. Once done, click on save the settings.

Step 7: Modify network settings.
After accessing the internet on your main computer, you can proceed for modifying network settings. For its select wireless tab, present on the setup page.
Over there you can change network name as well as a network password.
