How can I launch the Linksys router E1000 setup?

Linksys E1000 Wireless-N router is characterised to provide internet access to your devices both by wireless mode and wired mode.

That means, if you have any device in your network, which is not wireless enables, then you can also establish a wired connection. For this purpose, the Linksys E1000 router comes along with four Ethernet ports.

It is not only attractive feature but many other features such as WPA2 security, Network Address Translation (NAT) technology and much more, make it preferred choice among users.

In this very article, we will discuss steps that are involved in setting up the Linksys E1000 router.

Setting up Linksys E1000 router

For initiating the setup, you will require an installation CD that comes along with your router. If in case you do not have installation CD with you then you can download it from Linksys’s website, i.e. www.linksys.com/support

Once you ensure the availability of the CD, then you can proceed with setup steps, which are:

Step 1:-
You will require a computer with CD-ROM to initiate the setup. Put installation CD into CD-ROM of the Computer.

 

 

Step 2:-
Once your Computer read the CD, it will display a pop-up window. On this window, you will find the option of Set up your Linksys Router. Click on that.

 

 

But if in case this pop-up window does not display on the screen then you will be required to manually run the installation CD. For this, you will be required to go to the start menu at the taskbar. Then click on the computer.

All drives present on your computer will be displayed. Here double-click on CD-ROM drive.

Step 3:-
Then the End-user Agreement will be displayed. After reading the same, click on Next.

 

 

Step 4:-
Now setup will show up how you are required to establish a connection between a Linksys router and a computer.

For this first power on the extender, as shown in figure

 

 

Then establish a connection between router and computer using Ethernet cable, as shown in the figure.

 

 

Then click on Next.

Step 5:-
Now, onwards, you will need not to do anything. Just wait, until the setup gets completed.

 

 

Step 6:-
Once the message displays that installation is completed, click on Ok.

 

 

By this, you have completed the setup of Linksys E1000 router.
