How to set up my new Linksys E1200 router using Cisco Connect?

Setup of Linksys E1200 router is the same as is in case of other Linksys routers. All you have to do is run the Cisco Connect setup software and follow the steps and your Linksys router will be setup.

This Cisco Connect software is embedded in the installation CD. Thus when you run the setup CD, this software will run automatically.

As discussed in another article related to other routers, same is the case in the E1200 router.

You will have to install the Linksys router using the installation CD. If in case you do not have the same then you can download the installation CD software from Linksys’s official website for support, i.e. www.linksys.com/support

Steps to setup E1200 router using Cisco Connect

Step 1:-
You will require a laptop or computer to initiate the installation. So choose the device that you are going to use for setting up the Linksys router.
In our case, we are taking it to be a computer.

Step 2:-
Insert the installation CD into CD-ROM of the computer.

 

 

Step 3:-
The installation CD will run automatically, and a pop-up window will display. Here you are required to click on Set up your Linksys Router.

 

 

If in case, installation CD does not run by its own then you will be required to click on the Start button present on the taskbar. Then click on the Computer. Over here double-click on CD drive.

Step 4:-
Now onwards follow instructions that get displayed on your screen.

Step 5:-

AT the end, you will receive a message congratulating you about the successful installation of Linksys E1200.

In this way, you can easily set up the Linksys E1200 router using Cisco Connect. But this is not only the utility of Cisco Connect. It can be used to manage various settings related to your router.

For this, all you will be required to do is: click on Start button present on taskbar. Here go to All programs. Under this, you will get the option of Cisco Connect. Click on it, and the main menu of Cisco Connect will be opened up.
